Leading a program night
Programs focus on a central topic, usually involve a presentation and hands-on activity, and send teens back out in the world with more information and tools than they came with.
Past program nights have focused on topics such as goal-setting, budgeting, self-care, and more. Your program night topic should center around an idea that will help teens in foster care grow in some way - whether that's maturity, skills, community, or another area of life.
The details
Be creative! The more engaging, hands-on, and interactive your program is, the better.
Presentation and activity time usually totals about an hour to an hour and a quarter, to allow time for dinner, catching up with mentors, and closing.
